2022 Thistle Awards
January 23 and 24 marked an important day for the learners of TGHS as the school held their annual Thistle awards assembly. This assembly is held in January of every year to acknowledge the learners that excelled academically in the previous academic year. This assembly can be life changing to some learners as they are awarded with vouchers and school bursaries.
Prises are awarded as follows:
- The Thistle Award is awarded to the Top 10 learners in a grade and is awarded every six months.
- A School Bursary is awarded once a year to the top learner in every grade to pay their school tuition for the year.
- Cum Laude Certificates are awarded for obtaining an average of 80% in Gr 8 & 9 and 75% in Gr 10-12
- Academic Colours are awarded for obtaining an average of 75% and above for a period of two years.
- Academic Honours are awarded for obtaining an average of 75% and above for a period of three years.
- McCreedy awards are awarded to learners with high merits.
- Learners also receive a Menlyn voucher for:
